Hipcamp
I started at Hipcamp freelance copywriting descriptions for parks and campgrounds, and joined the team full-time shortly after to build a remote team of 30+ freelance writers, writing over 11k+ unique page descriptions in 5 months, 2 months ahead of our target date.
Over the next 4 years, I managed social media, content and community, organically grew the social community 1000%+ YoY, created the Hipcamp voice & tone guidelines, Field Scout program (Hipcamp Photographers), instilled cultural norms, managed numerous marketing campaigns, facilitated multiple office designs and company events and focused on internal culture building.
Social Media & Community
Grew the Hipcamp community and social media from the ground up. Created Hipcamp voice & tone guidelines, managed Wordpress developer, CMS migration & design, collaborated on creation of Hipcamp Values. Founded the Hipcamp Host community, including the Hipcamp Host Facebook Group, and Hipcamp Host interview series. Grew Instagram audience from 8k-100k in the first year through partnerships, and user-contributed content.
Field Scout Program
Community members get paid to photograph and visit unique places. Field Scouts (Hipcamp Photographers) stay at Hipcamp properties for free while earning extra cash for the photos they take and the experiences they make.
The Hipcamp Field Scout program was created as a way to source visual creative for marketing channels, and verify the accuracy of new properties listed on Hipcamp from community photographers.

Marketing Campaigns
Regional market launches (2015) - Coordinated, and launched 5 regional summer campaigns, growing newsletter subscribers 80k+.
Endless Summer UGC Challenge (2019) - generated the highest contribution of UGC ever, to the site.
Earth Day and Night (2016-19) - community-based campout that increased nights outside, while supporting land stewardship.
People & Culture Operations
Facilitated office design & administration. Created Slack, lore & more (internal communication & culture resource), monthly hangouts, planned and executed numerous company events including team offsites and overnights such as the Fall Harvest Campout end of summer celebration, and Holiday by the Bay end of year celebration.
